Anthropic launches Claude Personal Finance beta with read-only Plaid bank links

US Pro, Max and Ultra users can ask Claude about balances and spending; Anthropic says it cannot move, manage or invest money and chat in the hub is not used for training.
Why it matters
Anthropic is matching a ChatGPT personal-finance feature that also uses Plaid, but frames Claude as ad-free and without selling cards or loans. Access covers bank name, account labels, last four digits, balances, credit limits and up to two years of transactions—still a large data surface for a consumer chatbot. The beta starts this week for paid US plans only. Watch expansion outside the US, whether licensed advisors are brought into the product, and how often users revoke Plaid connections after privacy concerns.
