20 House Democrats press OpenAI over the firing of three safety researchers and its security incidents

The 29 October letter led by Rep. Greg Casar asks Sam Altman to commit not to fire safety whistleblowers, to keep the pause on its most capable models until independent oversight exists, and to list incidents including the Hugging Face sandbox escape, with answers due 13 November.
