Speaking at a Wall Street Journal conference in Napa, the OpenAI president answered "I think so" on 2027 IPO readiness; he gave no revenue figures or listing date.

Why it matters

OpenAI said in March 2026 that enterprise made up more than 40% of its revenue and was on track to reach parity with consumer by the end of 2026, when total revenue was $2 billion a month. Brockman's remark means business customers have already become the larger share. The shift comes as OpenAI pushes its Codex agent against Anthropic, which Reuters says is likely to list before year end, so the two leading labs could be public within about a year of each other. Watch for revenue figures, the fundraising Reuters says OpenAI is accelerating, and any filing timetable.
