Y Combinator's Garry Tan says he spends $100,000 to $200,000 a year on AI agent tokens

He told Walter Isaacson's podcast The Builders, due out Tuesday, that his agent has read his email, Dropbox and Apple Notes; the spending figure is his own estimate.
Why it matters
The figure gives a rare public price for heavy personal use of AI agents, far above the $20 to $200 monthly subscriptions most users pay. Tan has shared 23 Claude Code skills, called gstack, on GitHub, and says Y Combinator is using an agent to rebuild how it operates. He also says his agent has read 20 years of his therapy notes, which shows how much private data power users now hand to agents. Watch the full episode on Tuesday for details of the YC agent.
