Unitree-affiliated robot dog wins first robot race up Mount Tai's 3,100 steps in 43 minutes 41 seconds
The CMG competition in Tai'an drew robots from more than 50 Chinese companies, universities and teams to a 3.9-kilometre trail; humanoid results are not detailed.
Why it matters
Most robot demonstrations happen on flat lab floors; this course climbed nearly 600 metres over stone steps of uneven height on a UNESCO World Heritage trail. Legged robots led: Beijing Lingyi Technology, a Unitree subsidiary, won the legged race with a Unitree A2, and a Shanghai team using Unitree A2 and B2 dogs took second. Organisers say the aim is to push embodied AI into industry and daily life. Watch whether humanoid times are published, since humanoid racing was one of the four events.
