AI-designed peptide RK-14 kills MRSA and drug-resistant E. coli and clears catheter biofilms in lab tests
Reports say researchers from the Bose Institute, SKUAST-Kashmir and BGSB University picked RK-14 from thousands of computationally screened candidates and found it outperformed vancomycin and colistin on five-day-old catheter biofilms in vitro; damage to red blood cells rose at higher doses and animal studies are still needed.
