Moth-shaped robot uses an artificial circulatory system to grow its own UV light sensor, Advanced Science paper reports
Interesting Engineering says University of Tartu researchers pumped chemical precursors through the robot so a conductive sensor forms where UV light hits, which then triggers wing flapping or an LED; it is a proof of concept with one predetermined reaction and the sensor cannot be undone.
