Vercel AI Gateway adds DeepSeek Search and Fetch as provider-agnostic tools
Any tool-calling model can search the web and fetch pages as Markdown with one AI Gateway key; no separate DeepSeek account.

Vercel’s Nov 6 changelog puts DeepSeek’s Search and Fetch behind the AI Gateway so teams are not locked to one model provider when agents need the open web. Search returns titles, URLs and summaries; Fetch returns page content as Markdown. The helpers ship in AI SDK 6.0.321+ and 7.0.160+, billed per gateway tool use rather than a second DeepSeek key.
