Why it matters

Harness is DeepSeek's open-source agent framework, released as a developer preview on August 13 and built on Cordis, where the agent loop, model adapters, tools and web interface are all swappable plugins. Creator Mode lets the agent inspect its own running state and build and install a plugin in the same session from a description, which Startup Fortune reads as a bid to lock users into DeepSeek's plugin ecosystem. The repository has passed 200,000 GitHub stars. Watch for documentation, safety review of user-made plugins and rollout details.
