Why it matters

Dreambeans is one of Google's clearest bets on proactive AI that acts on personal data without being asked, and India's large overlap of Gemini, Gmail and Photos users is why Google chose it first, a product manager said. The US numbers show the challenge: about 55,000 downloads since June, most in September, then a steep October drop. The app now uses the Veo video model to animate some stories. Watch whether Indian-language support produces the habit the US launch has not.
