Why it matters

Chinese embodied-AI startup TARS (它石智航) and auto supplier Aptiv signed a deal at the 9th China International Import Expo, Sina Tech reports. Aptiv will complete a hundred-unit-scale deployment of TARS A-series industrial robots by year-end, covering flexible assembly, inspection and production management. The robots run on TARS's general embodied model, AWE (AI World Engine), and the compute base behind them is due to enter mass production in 2026. The pair earlier began building what they call China's first thousand-unit industrial embodied-robot cluster.
