Claude Code head of product Cat Wu leaves Anthropic weeks before its planned IPO
Wu said on X that Friday was her last day and Anthropic confirmed the exit to Business Insider; she gave no reason and did not say where she is going.
Why it matters
Wu was one of the two leaders of Claude Code alongside its creator Boris Cherny, the product Business Insider credits with lifting Anthropic's revenue and its ability to buy compute. She also oversaw Cowork, Anthropic's tool for non-coding work. Her exit follows Claude Code's Thariq Shihipar, who left last month, and comes as Anthropic heads toward an initial public offering later this month.
