Meta raises $15bn in a five-part US bond sale to fund AI infrastructure
Coupons run from 5.85% on 2031 notes up to 7.5% on 30-year debt, Moody's rated it Aa3, and the sale reportedly drew about $58bn of orders.
Why it matters
Meta is leaning harder on debt to pay for AI data centres. This $15bn sale follows a $25bn investment-grade deal in April and a $30bn offering last year, and comes days after Meta widened plans for what could become a $97.5bn equity raise. Meta expects capital spending of $135bn to $145bn this year. Investors still lined up, but the 30-year coupon of 7.5% shows the price of borrowing at this scale.
