Xiaomi says its humanoid robot worked a full 8-hour shift at its car factory for the first time

The robot covered a full day's demand at a centre-console side-cover sorting station and corrected anomalies itself, Xiaomi said; no independent check of the run has been published.
Why it matters
The shift extends a factory trial that began in March with three autonomous hours at a nut-loading station, at a 90.2% success rate on a 76-second cycle. Xiaomi now puts success rates across three stations at 94% to 98%. It has also started a home trial in an employee apartment, where a system built on its open-sourced Xiaomi-Robotics-1 model ran for more than 30 minutes across three rooms. Chinese makers are moving humanoids from demos to timed shifts; watch for third-party data on human takeovers and throughput.
