Why it matters

Token budgets have become a new line item as companies hand coding agents to staff, and Apple is one of the first large firms reported to be pulling them back. According to Bloomberg, Apple lets employees use Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and other models and is now asking some teams to use cheaper models or on-device AI. Employees told Bloomberg that few used the full $300 limit, so the savings may be small. Watch whether other large companies follow and whether vendors' enterprise revenue feels it.
