Why it matters

The deal lands the same day OpenAI said it plans to acquire Pierre Computer, another developer-tools startup, as the biggest labs buy the tools coders use to manage AI agents. Conductor, founded in 2024 by Charlie Holtz and Jackson de Campos, coordinates several coding agents working at once, while Pierre focuses on storing and managing AI-generated code. Axios describes coders as AI's most important power users and coding as a crucial route to enterprise spending. Watch for Meta to confirm the deal and say how Conductor fits its coding products.
