Why it matters

Platforms such as Uber and DoorDash are often named as candidates for disintermediation, where people ask agents like Meta's Muse or OpenAI's Dots to order rather than open the app. This is the first time Uber has disclosed agent volumes, and it shows the effect is still tiny. Chief executive Dara Khosrowshahi said Uber hopes for more traction and is open to working with AI companies. What to watch is whether agent orders grow as assistants gain booking and payment features.
