Why it matters

Athenahealth serves more than 20% of the US population, according to ZDNET, so the server is one of the largest routes yet for patients to put their own records, from lab results and medications to visit history, in front of a general chatbot. The company says the tool does not give medical advice and should not replace a clinician's judgement. Watch how many patients opt in, and whether rival record systems open similar connections to other assistants.
