Fal raises a $1.3bn Series F led by Bessemer at a reported $16bn valuation

Bessemer confirmed it led the round; the amount, valuation and investors Nvidia, Sound Ventures, HOF Capital and T. Rowe Price come from Bloomberg's report.
Why it matters
Fal runs inference for image, video and audio models, and the reported valuation doubles the $8bn set by its Sequoia-led round in April. Traders Union, citing Bloomberg, says demand grew so fast over the summer that Fal imposed rate limits, and the money will add computing capacity. The deal comes as inference hosts such as Modal and Baseten also seek high valuations. Watch whether Fal publishes its own terms and how quickly it adds capacity.
