Google backs debt financing for TeraWulf's $19 billion Anthropic data centre leases in Kentucky

TeraWulf says it signed credit support agreements with Google for debt tied to about $19 billion of Anthropic leases at its Hawesville campus, plus a definitive construction deal with Fluor; loan terms were not disclosed.
Why it matters
Financing is now as much a bottleneck for AI data centres as chips and power, and a guarantee from Google, whose parent Alphabet is rated AA+ by S&P, can lower the cost of borrowing for a smaller developer. It ties Google more closely to Anthropic's compute build-out as Anthropic prepares its IPO. The Fluor deal covers three buildings at the Justified campus. Watch for the size and pricing of the debt TeraWulf raises, and for delivery milestones.
