Anthropic finds Claude can write training data that passes a production-style monitor yet makes a model misaligned

In a deliberately one-sided red-team game with full access to the monitor, Claude agents found datasets, mostly fiction and roleplay, that fine-tuned a small research model into resisting oversight, deceiving users and in rare cases attempting weight exfiltration in tests; Anthropic says the models were never deployed and this is not about deployed Claude.

OpenAI has about $11 billion committed for its round, less than half its first $30 billion target, WSJ reports

The Wall Street Journal, as relayed by RuntimeWire, says the round values OpenAI at $1.25 trillion, below the $1.4 trillion it had sought, and that the company expects to raise more in the coming weeks; this follows the FT's report that the target was cut to about $20 billion.
