Voyager opens Vork: headless 3D/VFX engine where agents write shaders as code

Research preview claims a ~2,500-token core API, GPU Vulkan/Metal path, and a million-bird flock render in 97 seconds on one L4—built for agents, not mouse-driven DCCs.
Why it matters
Voyager co-founder Ravi Parikh released Vork, a research-preview headless 3D and VFX engine aimed at coding agents rather than human DCC UIs. Agents author scene programs for materials, cameras, lights, simulation and compositing; the kernel stays small (~2,500 tokens of getting-started help) while shaders and even light physics can be rewritten per shot. Demos include a million self-steering birds rendered in 97 seconds on one NVIDIA L4 and Nuke-style composites on real footage. Source-available and free during the preview; GPU path uses Vulkan or Metal.
